SIMPLE BY DESIGN

How to use Password Generator

  1. Move the length slider to choose between 8 and 64 characters.
  2. Select Generate Password to create a new random value.
  3. Copy the result and save it in your password manager.
  4. Use a different password for every account.

Random passwords, generated locally.

The generator draws randomness from crypto.getRandomValues and uses letters, numbers and symbols. Some visually ambiguous characters are excluded. Passwords are generated on your device and are not stored by OurJS. A specific mix of character types is not guaranteed in every result.

Prefer longer unique passwords where the service allows them. Check the account’s password rules and regenerate if necessary. Clipboard managers can retain copied passwords.

A FEW THINGS TO KNOW

A little more clarity.

Where does the randomness come from?

The tool uses your browser’s Web Crypto API, crypto.getRandomValues, rather than Math.random.

Does OurJS save the password?

No. The generated result stays in the page on your device. Save it securely before closing or refreshing the page.

Will every password include a symbol?

Characters are sampled from a set containing letters, numbers and symbols, but a particular category is not guaranteed. Check the receiving service’s requirements.
