Start from a real relationship
Two pages deserve a link when one helps someone act on or extend the other. An image-format comparison naturally connects to an image converter; an unrelated password generator does not become relevant merely because both pages belong to the same site. Map relationships around tasks and questions before adding a generic related-content box everywhere.
Use descriptive link text
A linked phrase should give a reasonable clue about its destination. Compare Read more with Compare WebP, JPEG and PNG. The second phrase lets someone decide whether the detour is worthwhile. Keep wording natural in the sentence and avoid forcing the exact same target phrase into every article that mentions a broadly related subject.
Design a practical path
Consider a visitor preparing a portfolio screenshot. A resizing guide links to the image resizer; the tool explains dimensions and links to compression guidance; that article links to format selection. Each step answers a different question. The sequence creates a useful workflow without requiring an artificial parent article that repeats the same introduction three times.
Expose links as actual links
Use anchor elements with href destinations for navigation. A click handler on a decorative card may work for one pointer interaction while making discovery, keyboard use or opening a new tab more difficult. Keep the title and linked area clear, and avoid nesting separate interactive controls inside one large card link.
Prevent orphaned and stale pages
When publishing a new guide, add at least one appropriate path from an archive or existing article. When removing a page, inspect references to it instead of leaving broken recommendations behind. Large collections benefit from route audits that compare published records, inbound links and sitemap coverage. These checks reveal structural gaps that a homepage-only review will miss.
Review the journey as a reader
Open a few articles without using site search and follow the recommended next steps. Ask whether each destination adds information, whether the anchor describes it, and whether returning is easy. Keep the set focused. A small number of relevant choices usually communicates more intent than a long footer stuffed with every phrase the site hopes to rank for.
